The world is filled with vibrant and beautiful cities. However, there are many places that have now become so popular that they’re now overrun with tourists. Other places are quite simply overrated and not worth the visit. Somebody recently asked users on Reddit what they thought were the most overrated cities in the world. While many people had what many would consider hottakes, some people mentioned names that truly are overrated.

Have you ever visited a place that you heard a lot about but was mediocre at best? Many people have had similar experiences. Recently, someone took to the famous social media platform Reddit and asked what were the most overrated cities in the world as per the users. Many people obliged with interesting answers.
Dubai was the one name that kept cropping up again and again. Looks like a lot of people are unhappy with what Dubai has to offer. Another popular city mentioned in the thread was Las Vegas. One user said that when they visited the city for the first time, they expected it to be a party central. However, that wasn’t the case.
They said that the city was too limited in its party options and that London, Bangkok and Amsterdam were a much better party option. Paris was another city whose mention was recurring. One person mentioned that San Francisco was a terrible city unless you were looking for human waste or extreme drug addicts.

Some Other Cities That Redditors Mentioned
Surprisingly, there were even mentions of Los Angeles. One person said that they saw a person getting robbed at gunpoint there. They also mentioned that the city was just hot and dirty. One user mentioned Cancun. They said that they had travelled all over the world as well as Mexico and yet, they hadn’t seen a city as terrible as Cancun.
One person even mentioned Venice. They said that the city was an aggressive tourist trap and that it was that person’s least favourite city. Miami also appeared on the list quite a lot. One person said that everything had the label of ‘luxury’ there. Another person mentioned that the beaches in this city were absolutely filthy and that there was no culture in the city.
They even went on to call the city an absolute dump and that it had really awful food. One person said that Singapore was overrated as it was man-made and the people there were self-centered. Many said the same thing about Dubai as well.
