As reported by the Iranian Student News Agency on Thursday, December 14, it was mentioned that Iran has finally lifted visa requirements for 33 countries. This includes Gulf states like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. In fact, people from India are also included on this exclusive list. It’s also worth noting that countries like Lebanon, Tunisia, Qatar, and other Central Asian, African, and Muslim countries have also been given this visa exemption.

At this point, it should be mentioned that this will increase the number of countries allowed visa-free entries to 45. As such, it’s also another move between the thawing of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran. In case you aren’t aware, this development comes after recently the nation finally allowed Iranian pilgrims to undertake Umrah in the kingdom. This resumed after it had been closed for the last eight years and the regular travel for Umrah pilgrims from Iran will begin on December 19.
